We’re Jesse and Cleo — proud founders of Fale Koko.

Fale Koko was born from a desire to celebrate the rich, vibrant culture of Samoa and to honour the traditions that have shaped our lives. Our journey began in 2022, inspired by one of my fondest childhood memories: helping my grandmother prepare and roast Koko Samoa in our small mountain village of Tapatapao.

Tapatapao is a quiet village, often overlooked by travellers — but to me, it’s the heart of everything. As a young boy, I would help harvest, ferment, roast, and pound the Koko with my grandmother, who sold it at the Fugalei markets for just $3 tala a block — just enough to feed our family for the day and buy lunch at school.

We always knew Koko Samoa had something special — a bold, earthy flavour with deep cultural roots. All it needed was a touch of innovation to share its story with the world.

That’s how Hot Koko and Traditional Koko were born — a modern twist on a treasured tradition. At Fale Koko, we’re not just crafting premium Koko products — we’re creating opportunities for our farmers back in Samoa. We believe in honouring their hard work with fair reward, and in building a future where Samoan culture and craftsmanship are recognised and celebrated globally.
